Separate order acceptance from dispatch readiness
A buyer paying online does not mean the product is packed and ready. Set your collection request around the actual completion time, including any assembly, wrapping or order checks your business performs.
When several customers have orders ready, list their addresses separately. Five parcels for five buyers are not a five-box delivery to one address. WTM needs the stop list to quote the right service and to keep each handoff identifiable.
Give the buyer a realistic delivery message
Confirm transportation before promising a specific arrival window. Explain to your customer what has been booked and which contact details will help with receiving. Do not present a request awaiting confirmation as a shipment already travelling.
For an apartment or office tower, obtain the unit, access instructions and recipient telephone number. Decide who is authorised to accept the parcel. A business can avoid a great deal of confusion by checking these details before printing its final address label.
Protect the product you have sold
Use packaging appropriate to the actual contents and planned handling. Measure the finished parcel rather than the product alone. Fragile display pieces, long cartons and temperature-sensitive goods need to be described before quoting.
Keep the packing slip or buyer reference associated with the package. Remove reused labels so there is one unambiguous destination. For multiple pieces belonging to one order, number the packages so the customer can check that the shipment is complete.
Use shipment records to answer customers promptly
The portal gives the booking customer access to shipment history, quotes, payments and issued documents. Real-time GPS tracking helps you follow the delivery; the POD helps establish where the agreed handoff occurred. Share information with the buyer through your normal customer-service process.
