WTM Logistics · Calgary–Red Deer · Northbound
WTM can arrange Calgary-origin parcel delivery to accessible rural homes and businesses around the Red Deer corridor. The quotation needs the actual receiving location, not simply the nearest town or highway exit. Explain the final access and handoff so a prepared package can reach the person expecting it without turning the last few kilometres into an address search.

Use the location the driver can reach
Provide the civic address where available, plus a useful map pin and directions for the correct entrance. On a property with several gates, identify the gate that visitors or deliveries should use. A postal mailing address may not describe that access point.
Keep the contact number current. The receiving person should be able to explain a turn, open an agreed gate or meet at the authorised handoff point. A pin is supporting information, not permission to enter restricted property.
Disclose the last-road conditions
Tell WTM about narrow access, limited turning space or a driveway unsuitable for the vehicle needed by the load. The driver and dispatch team can then agree a practical delivery point. A parcel box near reception is different from unloading equipment beside a distant work area.
If an alternate handoff is needed, agree it with the sender and receiver. Do not send the driver to an unofficial roadside stop or assume another business will store the order without its permission.
Make the package description complete
A rural supply order can range from a small replacement item to several heavy cartons. Give the number of pieces, their packed measurements and weights, plus any lifting or special handling needs. Courier is appropriate for suitable smaller loads; pallets may require LTL or tailgate-equipped transport.
For groceries, plants or other temperature-sensitive contents, disclose the condition requirement. An ordinary enclosed courier vehicle is not automatically a refrigerated service, even when the outdoor temperature feels cool.
Arrange the receiving window before collection
Rural businesses may be out on field work rather than waiting at a counter. Nominate a person and time window for the handoff. State whether you are requesting same-day delivery or a planned service, then have WTM confirm the actual movement.
Road and access conditions can change. Alberta 511 is a useful public road-information reference; it does not replace the instructions for your private entrance. Keep dispatch informed of a blocked access road or a change in the receiver’s availability.
Is every address near Red Deer included automatically?
The exact address, access and shipment are assessed in the quote. Proximity to the main corridor alone does not define the complete service.
Can the parcel be left unattended?
Only request an unattended handoff through an agreed authorisation and suitable location. Do not assume that this is the default for a rural delivery.
Send the full rural destination with your package details and let WTM plan the final handoff as well as the highway trip.
Book the next shipment without rebuilding the conversation
Request a delivery, review and approve the quote, and pay online in the WTM Customer Portal. Follow the active shipment with real-time GPS and find issued BOLs, PODs, invoices and previous shipments in your account.
Regular shippers can ask about 10% off recurring shipments. A prepaid credit account is a separate option with up to 25% off eligible services. The two offers are not automatically combined.
