WTM offers refrigerated freight options for chilled food pallets travelling from Calgary to Lethbridge. When the order is larger than a courier consignment but does not need exclusive vehicle use, refrigerated LTL can be assessed. The accepted arrangement must match the load’s temperature requirements, available capacity and receiving conditions.

Shared-capacity pallet freight · Agreed unloading · Shipment documents

Start with a properly described chilled pallet

Provide the pallet’s outside dimensions, gross weight and carton count. Identify overhang, no-stack restrictions and the product groups on the load. The supplier should secure and label the consignment so it is ready for the agreed handling method.

State the required transport range rather than a vague cold description. Frozen items, chilled items and products with different conditions should be identified separately. Shared capacity is appropriate only where WTM confirms a suitable arrangement for the actual consignment.

Keep loading and airflow requirements visible

Give the supplier’s loading instructions and any product-specific restrictions. Do not arrange packaging or loading in a way that conflicts with the accepted refrigerated-transport plan. WTM needs to know about oversized pallets, blocked access or handling limitations before assigning capacity.

CFIA discusses suitable temperature conditions, conveyances and contamination prevention in its preventive-controls guidance. The food business provides its own product controls and release information; the shipment should arrive ready for transport under those instructions.

Arrange cold receiving at the Lethbridge end

Confirm the receiving dock, appointment and person authorised to accept. If no forklift or dock is available, disclose the tailgate and surface requirements. The receiver must also plan transfer into its own appropriate storage after the handoff.

For example, a food supplier could ship one labelled chilled pallet to a buyer’s staffed goods entrance. The quote should cover the accepted transportation and unloading, while the buyer manages product checks and onward storage. A delivery signature alone does not replace those food-business responsibilities.

Compare refrigerated courier, LTL and dedicated transport

A few manageable refrigerated cartons may suit refrigerated courier. Pallet quantities can suit refrigerated LTL when capacity and compatibility are confirmed. An exclusive or unusually urgent movement may require dedicated equipment instead.

Explain any required temperature report before acceptance. GPS tracking follows the shipment’s location; it does not automatically create a temperature history. WTM can discuss the requested service and records as separate, explicit parts of the quotation.

Refrigerated LTL questions

Is every chilled pallet automatically eligible for shared transport?

No. The actual conditions, handling and available compatible capacity determine the accepted arrangement.

Can the shipment use a 5-ton refrigerated truck?

Provide the full load and both-end access details so WTM can confirm suitable equipment for the booked service.

Keep the quote, pallet details and paperwork together

Manage your LTL request, quote approval and payment through the WTM Customer Portal. Track the shipment with real-time GPS visibility and find issued BOLs, PODs, invoices and historical shipments in your account. Update the packed load whenever quantities, dimensions or receiving requirements change.

Planning repeated deliveries? Discuss the 10% recurring-shipment offer using your usual locations and packed loads.
