WTM can arrange frozen retail-product deliveries from Lethbridge suppliers to independent grocers in Calgary. The shipment might be a trial order for one store or several separately packed store orders. The transport request should identify the final cartons, their required conditions and who will receive them into the store’s frozen-storage process.

Refrigerated Sprinters and 5-ton trucks · Product-specific conditions

Separate the retail order from the transport count

A supplier may sell products by unit while the courier receives master cartons or insulated containers. State both the transport pieces and the order reference the buyer uses. The grocery receiver should be able to reconcile the delivered packages with the purchasing paperwork.

Keep different store orders clearly allocated. For multiple Calgary stops, provide a destination and piece count for each. Do not deliver one unallocated mixed load and expect the driver to distribute retail quantities from it.

Preserve product identity without promising shelf life

The supplier is responsible for product labels, date information and its own batch records. Use the shipment reference to connect transportation with those records. The courier’s POD does not create a new shelf-life date or certify the product for sale.

For example, a food producer testing demand in two stores can prepare numbered cartons for each buyer. The booked transport handoffs provide an auditable sequence, while sales tracking and stock rotation stay with the producer and grocers.

Match the frozen requirements to equipment

Specify the required transport range and confirm the goods are released in their intended condition. Disclose container types, weights, no-stack instructions and any requested reporting. Extra chilled products should be described separately instead of being added under the assumption that all cold goods travel alike.

The CFIA programme guidance addresses conveyance conditions and protected food loading. Those principles support a prepared and controlled handoff rather than waiting with unprotected cartons outside the store.

Book the grocer’s receiving window

A store open to shoppers may still have a limited goods-receiving window. Confirm the door, dock or hand-unloading arrangement and a receiver with access to the correct storage. WTM needs that information before accepting the schedule.

If repeated orders grow into pallet quantities, discuss refrigerated LTL instead of keeping a parcel description that no longer reflects the load. The order can remain with WTM while the transport arrangement evolves.

Grocer-delivery questions

Can separate stores receive separate invoices from the supplier?

That commercial arrangement is the supplier’s decision. Give WTM the transport references and authorised booking instructions needed for each consignment.

Does live tracking show freezer temperature?

GPS tracking shows location. Any temperature-reporting requirement must be separately included in the accepted arrangement.

Keep the cold-shipment instructions with the request

Use the WTM Customer Portal to submit the load and required conditions, approve your quote and make payment. Follow shipment location with real-time GPS tracking and access issued BOLs, PODs, invoices and history. Any temperature-reporting requirement is agreed separately; location tracking is not a temperature record.

A funded shipping credit account can provide up to 25% savings on eligible services. Confirm the applicable arrangement with your quote.

Open the WTM Customer Portal. New customers can request an invitation at admin@wtmlogistics.com.
