Class 1 Professional Driver (Local & Long-Haul)
We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Class 1 Driver to join our fleet. This versatile role includes a mix of local daily runs and scheduled long-haul trips. The ideal candidate is a professional who takes pride in their equipment, values punctuality, and maintains a high standard of safety on the road.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Safely operate a Class 1 tractor-trailer in various weather and traffic conditions.
- Trip Management: Plan routes effectively to ensure on-time deliveries while staying compliant with ELD (Electronic Logging Device) and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Cargo Security: Ensure all loads are properly secured (strapping/chaining where necessary) and verify documentation matches the freight.
- Communication: Maintain regular contact with dispatch and provide exceptional professional service to customers at pick-up and drop-off points.
Requirements & Qualifications
- License: Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean Commercial Driver’s Abstract.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Class 1 driving experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate manual and/or automatic transmissions and navigate using GPS and paper maps.
- Physical Ability: Able to sit for long periods and perform physical tasks such as hooking/unhooking trailers and occasional loading/unloading.
- Border Crossing: (Optional) Valid FAST card or Passport for US-Canada cross-border hauls is an asset.
