Sending an item for a repair estimate is a transport decision, not approval to carry out the repair. WTM Logistics can collect the prepared item and deliver it to the workshop so the repair business can assess it and provide its own quotation.

Request a repair-estimate courier quote with the collection address, workshop intake details and package description. Keep the courier charge and repair decision separate so everyone understands what has been arranged.

Get the workshop’s intake instructions first

Ask the repair business for the reference it uses to receive the item and which accessories should accompany it. Include the customer’s name or business identifier as required by the workshop, without placing unnecessary private information on the shipping label.

Confirm the receiving address and intake hours. A sales office and repair department may operate at different entrances or locations. The courier needs the place where staff are ready to accept the prepared item for assessment.

Describe and protect the item

Record the type of equipment, packed dimensions, weight and package count. Identify separate accessories and any unusual handling requirements. The releasing customer should prepare the item for transportation according to the appropriate packing instructions.

If the item has known damage, leaks, batteries or another feature relevant to transport, disclose it in the request. The workshop’s willingness to assess something does not automatically describe how it should be carried by a courier.

Explain what the collection authorises

The courier booking arranges the movement to the workshop. Your agreement with the repair business determines inspection charges, repair approval and what happens if the estimate is declined.

WTM should not be asked to decide whether a repair is worthwhile at the collection point. Likewise, the customer receiving a courier quote should not assume that paying for transport pays the workshop’s inspection or repair bill.

Plan the decision after the estimate

The item may stay for repair, return unrepaired or travel to another authorised destination. Wait until the customer and workshop have agreed that next step, then request the appropriate onward collection.

For illustration, a business may approve assessment of a component and decide later whether to repair it. The return ready time depends on that decision and the workshop’s release. It should not be assumed from the date of the original courier delivery.

Keep the records connected but distinct

Use the WTM Customer Portal to request transport, review and approve the quote, pay online and follow the shipment with real-time GPS. The available POD confirms delivery to the workshop’s receiving point.

Keep the shipment reference beside the workshop’s intake number in your own records. The transport invoice, condition assessment and eventual repair quote answer different questions. Keeping them separate makes the process easier to explain to the customer.

Make repeat intake collections easier

Service businesses arranging assessments regularly can discuss a recurring pickup pattern and WTM’s 10% recurring-shipment offer. Provide normal collection areas, expected package types and the workshop’s intake windows rather than assuming every customer item has identical handling needs.

Does collection mean the repair is approved?

No. The courier transports the prepared item. Repair authorisation remains between the customer and workshop.

Can the item return to a different address?

Yes. Identify the new destination and authorised receiver when requesting the return movement so the quote and handoff match it.
