Confirm the supplier’s return requirements
Before booking, obtain the correct authorisation or core-return reference and the receiving address. Check which identifying labels and documents must accompany the item, and use the supplier’s instructions for its condition and preparation.
For illustration, a workshop returning a replacement-related component should connect it with the relevant purchase and return record. An unlabelled used part arriving at a warehouse may be difficult for the supplier to associate with the account expecting credit.
Have the workshop prepare the item
The sender should make the component ready for transportation according to the supplier’s and applicable handling requirements. Secure it in suitable packaging and prevent movement or leakage from the prepared item.
Describe the contents honestly, including any residual fluids or other issues requiring review. Batteries and hazardous components need a separate assessment; a generic “core return” description does not establish that every used vehicle part is suitable for ordinary courier transport.
Quote the actual weight and shape
A compact automotive part can be heavy. Provide measured packed dimensions and weight, not merely the replacement item’s product name.

Keep different returns separately identifiable
When several cores travel together, retain their individual authorisations and account references. Label packages so the receiving supplier can match them to its records without asking the courier to perform an inventory assessment.
If they are going to different suppliers, provide separate destinations and receiving windows. One workshop collection does not make every part part of the same final delivery.
Use delivery evidence when following up
