Small exhibition supplies can hold up a much larger installation when they are not at the venue when the team needs them. WTM Logistics provides courier transportation for prepared display materials, replaceable components and compact equipment going to museum and exhibition teams.

This service brief concerns supplies such as printed labels, packaged mounting fittings, display accessories and boxed replacement equipment. Specialist movement of collection objects requires its own assessment and should not be assumed from a general supply delivery.

Request an exhibition-supply courier quote with the item description, packing details and installation team’s deadline.

Connect the package to the exhibition job

Label each shipment with the project or exhibition reference and the receiving department. Separate supplies for different galleries or installation teams before collection.

For illustration, a printer’s finished labels and a supplier’s boxed fittings may both be needed for one installation. Confirm whether they are ready at the same address or require two collections. The courier quote should cover the actual movement rather than assuming that related items are physically together.

Use the staff receiving route

Ask the venue which entrance accepts deliveries for the team. Provide a named contact, direct telephone number and staffed receiving window.

A museum’s public visitor entrance is not automatically its supply entrance. If the loading area has limited access, agree an alternative with the venue before booking. Our guide to restricted exhibition loading access addresses small supplementary shipments where the usual dock is unavailable.

Protect the finished condition of the supplies

Use packaging appropriate to the components. Keep printed materials supported, small fittings contained and equipment protected from movement inside its container. Provide the actual packed dimensions and weight.

Describe fragile items and any temperature requirements to WTM during quoting. Do not assume every display-related parcel needs the same handling. Your supplier or equipment maker should guide the item-specific packing instructions.

Plan arrival before the material is needed for assembly

Give the installation team time to check the delivered supplies and use them. “Before opening” may be too late for items that need several hours of preparation.

WTM can quote time-sensitive delivery against the ready time, receiving window and installation deadline. An agreed transport plan helps the team coordinate the handoff instead of repeatedly asking who can leave the venue to collect the package.

Retain the handoff and invoice

Through the WTM Customer Portal, request the shipment, approve the quote and pay online. Real-time GPS tracking gives visibility while the supplies travel. Available PODs and invoices remain accessible with the shipment history.

Does this include transporting irreplaceable museum objects?

This article covers prepared exhibition supplies and replaceable components. Describe any collection object separately so specialist requirements can be assessed before transportation is agreed.

Can WTM collect from a print shop?

Yes. Provide the release reference, the number of prepared packages and the venue’s receiving instructions.

Keep your installation team at the venue while the missing supplies come to them. Call 587-316-2639.
