A business storage unit can be a courier collection point when the order is packed, access is arranged and someone is authorised to release it. WTM Logistics can transport prepared cartons, supplies and equipment from that collection point to your customer, workshop or another business address.
The service is useful for small retailers, event suppliers and trades businesses that store goods separately from their main office.
Request a storage-unit collection quote with the facility address, unit location, shipment size and receiving details.
Identify who will meet the driver and open the unit. Confirm the facility’s access arrangements and whether the collection can occur at the unit door or an agreed loading point.
A unit number alone is not a release instruction. Your access holder should know which order is leaving, how many pieces are included and where they are going. Share necessary access information through the booking arrangement rather than putting sensitive entry details on publicly visible parcel labels.
Pick the goods from storage, package them for transportation and label each piece with the destination. Keep outgoing orders separate from inventory that is staying in the unit.
For example, an event supplier might prepare two sealed cartons of printed materials for a venue. The courier collects those identified cartons, not an instruction to search shelving for “the next event order.” Stock selection and packing remain with the business.
Mention stairs, lifts, internal corridors, vehicle-height restrictions or a loading space away from the unit. Explain whether the items can be handed over at ground level and whether any piece needs additional handling.
If the collection has grown into pallets or equipment, WTM’s 5-ton truck service may be more appropriate than a standard parcel arrangement. Include the full packed dimensions so the assigned vehicle fits the actual order.
Your access holder’s availability must fit the receiver’s delivery window. A facility open late does not mean the destination can receive after its business day ends.
Provide a collection window, a delivery deadline and telephone contacts for both locations. Mention whether an order goes to a customer reception desk, workshop entrance or another storage facility with its own access rules.
Submit the request, approve the quote and handle payment in the WTM Customer Portal. Follow real-time GPS tracking during transportation and retrieve the POD and invoice when available.
Businesses regularly releasing orders from storage can discuss recurring collection arrangements and 10% off recurring shipments. Plan those runs around prepared orders rather than assuming access to unattended inventory.
This arrangement covers collecting prepared shipments. Have your staff or authorised access holder select and release the correct goods.
