WTM Logistics

Alberta · British Columbia · Northwest Territories24/7 Dispatch   587-316-2639

WTM Logistics can deliver physical engineering drawings and plan sets from the issuing office or print supplier to the project’s authorised receiver. The important details are the project reference, issue identification, package count and the time the receiving team needs the documents.

A courier delivers the prepared set. Your project team determines which revision is approved for use and how superseded drawings are controlled.

Request a plan-set courier quote with the collection location and named project contact.

Make the issue identification clear

Give each package a project reference and identify the drawing issue or revision on the accompanying paperwork. When several sets are going to different offices or sites, label the destinations separately.

For example, a design office may need one revised set delivered to the contractor and another to an off-site project manager. Record both handoffs rather than assuming one project address is sufficient for every recipient.

The releasing office should check that the package contains the intended set before collection. Courier speed cannot correct a document-control error made before the envelope leaves.

Protect the physical format

Choose appropriate protective packaging for flat sheets, bound sets, rolls or presentation boards. Keep drawings from becoming loose items at the collection point and avoid labels that obscure the documents themselves.

Give WTM the outer dimensions and weight. A tube of drawings, several boxed sets and large mounted boards have different space requirements. Include any requirement to keep a package flat when requesting the service.

Deliver to the project contact—not just the building

Provide the receiving person’s name, department and usable handoff window. At a site, give the correct entrance or meeting point and a reachable telephone number.

When the documents are needed for a meeting or site activity, explain when staff need them available. Allow for receipt and internal distribution rather than defining the deadline as the moment the meeting starts.

Our time-sensitive delivery service supports transport planning around that receiving requirement.

Keep a transport record beside your document register

Use the WTM Customer Portal to request the shipment, review and approve the quote and manage payment. Follow delivery progress, then retrieve the POD and invoice.

Keep the POD reference with your issue register. It records the transport handoff, while your own project process records receipt, technical review and authority to use the drawings.

Can a print shop release the plan sets directly to WTM?

Yes. Give the supplier your collection authorisation, the order reference and the destination instructions. Confirm that printing and packing are complete before the pickup.

Can regularly issued drawing sets have a repeating collection?

Discuss the expected pattern with WTM. An agreed recurring arrangement can benefit from 10% off recurring shipments.
